Putting On The Ritz

Hello, my dear friends! Are you a buffet person? I am not a fan because buffet food usually are not of the best quality, and I don’t eat enough to justify the price. That have said, the brunch I went to at the Ritz Carlton Entyse Bistro is one of the best-valued buffet I’ve been to for a while, so good that I think I should mention it here for my readers living in the DMV area.

What make this brunch an amazing value are four factors: price, variety, environment and service. For $36 per person (before drinks & taxes), you get full access to raw bar, cold cuts, seafood and dessert buffet, and a choice of hot entrée. The food variety are not your typical continental ones, either. The cold cut section, for example, has selection of gourmet ham and cheeses and smoke salmon avocado toasts. My favorite part, is the buffet room, which is a private dinning room during other hours, is decorated to replicate the view of a chef’s table in a B&B, the big glass window in the room also allow guests to have a view of the kitchen.

There is a saying of “Putting on the Ritz” for hospitality,  which would tell you that Ritz is a synonym of great food & service experience. If the buffet along is not a game changer, the entrées on the menu certainly should be. They are delicious and super photogenic (in the age of social media, we do care about the “look” a lot 😀 ). I got the Virginian, pouched egg over blue crab meat and Virginia ham, this plate along is worth all $36 as far as I am concerned. Husband is quite happy with his egg white omelet, the chicken & waffle (yes you heard it right) was actually too much for my older boy so we had to box the rest.

Outfit today is another example of the new casual we talked about last time. Cropped sweater and relaxed-fitting high waist denim. Wearing a belt bag, not only it dresses up the whole look a bit for this fancy brunch, also it allow me to have two hands free and we all know that is key to a successful food run at any buffet.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you get the chance to check out the new brunch at the Entyse Bistro of Ritz Carlton Tyson’s Galleria, it sure is a better value than the high tea, just saying. See you in my next post!
