Resort Wedding

Hello, my dear friends! What brought us out to the mountainous area of the country was a wedding, our cousin was getting married to the love of his life after been together for ten years. They chose a ski resort town, Breckenridge, as their destination wedding place. While I've been to a dude ranch in the mountains of Colorado over ten years ago, I had no idea what Breckenridge would be like, nor did know the dress code of the wedding would be formal, until a few days before our departure.

"Don't outshine the bride!" "I am not taking your photos at the wedding!" were the only expectations my husband set for this wedding. All things considered, I picked this cobalt cotton sateen eyelet maxi dress as my outfit for this resort wedding, because: 1) the design and color is elegant, feminine, sexy but classy; 2) eyelet is a lesser common choice of wedding guest attire hence less likely to run into someone wearing the same (and I didn't); 3) a dress is easy to pack and photograph. The sunny day was harsh on the photos but perfect for our cousin's garden wedding.

When you have on a statement dress, you want to keep everything else relatively simple. I accessories my look with a red amber acrylic basket clutch from the same designer, and a pair of pale pink velvet sandals. Since the dress has a low v neckline, I wore a pair of oversized pearl hoop earrings to draw more attention to my face which I put on a natural pink makeup to go with the accessories, but add something fun with a pair of funky orange/red sunglasses.

The wedding was a big success with well over a hundred guests. Husband's "concern" about me making it a "me-moment" was not an issue at all! It took husband five minutes on our way to the wedding to snap all the pictures. Later on that night, we also found out that I'm only good at dress up, not dance off.
