Winter White

Hello, my dear friends! Six more days to Christmas, are you ready for the holiday fun? We are having a rather mild winter this season, only once snow fall last week and it didn’t last for a day. It doesn’t stop me from wanting a little white scene on the blog though, so today I am going to show you my winter white.

White is magical during winter, I love to maximize its sartorial power by wearing statement pieces in white or layering up in various textures and length to create a statement look. Chunky knits, wool coat, faux fur jacket, velvet, brocade silk, all are great cold weather textures to have in white.

It is not necessary to limit oneself to strictly white colors, either. From blush pink to beige, all these light shades can be considered “winter white” when we style. In the occasion texture variation is not ideal, we can explore with different shades of winter white, such as wearing a pale pink top with white pants and top with a light camel colored coat, or any combination of the three.

Winter white also style wonderfully with metallics like silver and gold. If you want to accomplish a ice-princess-esque look, try accessorize with silver gray and metallic silver; or with gold and honey brown for a cozier alternative. In today’s outfit, I chose to pair with my soft white sweater dress with a white bag to amplify the impact of white, then with golden brown boots to warm up the whole look, as well as an echo of the gold hardware on the bag.

The bag might look familiar to you, yes, it is not a new belt bag by Saint Laurent, it is an old cross-body bag I wrapped around my waist. ^^ For trends that I don’t want to invest a lot in, belt bag in this case, I try to find alternatives. If you have a small bag  with removable or separable strap, use either the bag strap as belt or thread a think belt under the flap of the bag to make your own belt bag.

Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!
