Power Check

Hello, my dear friends! How was your long weekend? I always overestimate how much I could accomplish during long holidays thinking there is plenty of time, but in reality, I did less because it is the holidays. 😀 There is nothing motivates us to get back on track than an outfit that is sleek, chic and powerful. Thanks to the menswear trend, there is plenty of good and budget-friendly options in the market now.

Similar to the leopard suit I wore the week before, I prefer to pair blazer with cropped pants because they are petite-frame friendly, and great way to show off those beautiful sock boots. If I were a few inches taller, I’d go with the longer and bigger pants, like the old-fashioned men’s trousers because they are more chill and effortless.

The blazer, in today’s outfit, is an oversized one with tucks around the waist. This silhouette was first seen on Balenciaga runway a couple of seasons ago. At the time, I thought who’d want to wear that and look like Frankenstein? After a little tweak around the should width, I think the new season’s shape is a lot more modest yet still fashion forward enough to set apart from the classic styles. I like the small check print (or houndstooth as some calls it), it is also more gentle and sophisticated, almost undetectable from distance, which makes mix-match with other patterns or prints much easier.

Sock boots is my go-to style these days, why? They are comfy to wear, they come in many playful colors including this white and classic red, and they give just the right dose of feminine to balance out the very masculine blazer.

Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!
