Love Your Skin Holiday Gift Guide

Hello, my dear friends! Another year almost went by, are you ready to welcome 2020? For me, 2019 has been a year of aging in terms of physical health. Even without any actual illness, I feel overall my body is slowing down, everything seems to take longer to accomplish. I spoke of some of the aging signs I’ve been experiencing earlier, graying hair, skin discoloration, etc. The battle continues and I am always testing out new routines to help slowing down those signs. So for the year end, instead of a guide for fashion / style gifts, I want to share with you my latest skincare finds that helped me maintain / improve my skin condition the past few months, things that can help you and people you care to look and stay beautiful this holiday season.

If you are like me, prefer listening over reading, I did a short video explaining why I picked these items. The traditional text + photo list with stoppable links is below, too.

Love Your Skin Holiday Gift Guide

  1. Beekman 1802 Goat Milk Gift Sets

    I’ve never thought goat milk can be so delightful and nourishing until I started using Beekerman 1802. Their bespoken whipped cream smells and feels heavenly. The gift sets are perfect ones to give to family members (boys included) for them to experience the wonderful feelings first hand. They will always think of your gentleness when they use the cream.

  2. Bynacht Nocturnal Signature Anti-Aging Cream

    Busy moms need simple yet very effective skincare routine. I don’t have time to put on a million layers, sometimes I skip morning routine because I was too busy getting things done for the kids or work. The guilt is much less after I started using Bynacht, a German beauty brand claimed to work primarily at night when you sleep. The claim was not false! I’ve been using their eye cream, hyaluronic serum and anti-aging night cream daily the past month. I love my skin when I use them, especially the 24k gold infused cream. If there is one beauty produce you’d like to get for yourself, I would highly recommend this cream.

  3. U-Beauty Resurfacing Compound

    U Beauty is the brainchild of my friend and colleague, Tina Craig. She has amazing skin closer to 50, even for Asians. Her patent-pending U Beauty Resurfacing Compound is a formulated blend of vitamins C and E, peptides, retinol and hyaluronic acid. It is a powerful skin renewer but not too strong for daily use. My skin feels tight after I apply the compound, but it goes away after I use my moisturizers. It’s been almost 20 days of nightly use, the biggest change I’ve noticed is my skin is lighter and more elastic. If you have general skin aging concerns, U Beauty would be a great choice for one-stop care.

  4. Clé de Peau Kimono Dream Makeup

    Besides skincare, I would also like to include a couple of makeup items on this list. There is a growing trend among Asian girls to make lipstick the hero piece of an entire look. However, for girls with smaller eyes like mine, bare eyes with bright lipstick can make the eyes look even smaller. When I have full face coverage on I always apply the three essential touches: base, contour and highlight.

    Apart from the exception quality of Clé de Peau makeup(have you tried their foundation and powder? Highly recommend), the limited edition Kimono Dream is packaged with beautiful kimono prints, and wrapped in the super elegant way of traditional Japanese gifting. The entire collection has five items, together they provide just enough for a radiant, polished yet still effortless look. You always have the option of giving just one item, too, because the collection-worthy packing make any item from the Kimono Dream opens like a true present.

  5. Emelie Heathe Nail Polish

    These nail polishes are perfect stocking stuffers, or gifts you can give to girlfriends because:

    - luxurious packaging (better than many expensive high end brands) without the luxury price ($28/bottle);

    - non-toxic, clean product that is good for the nails;

    - pigmentation is excellent, application is very smooth, perfect for nail art; and

    - the most non-gel long lasting nail polish I’ve used
