Tiered Ruffles

Hello, my dear friends! Ruffles have been a dominating fashion trend for over two years now, in this season, what is better than ruffles? Tiered ruffles, ruffles on ruffles. When I saw this multi-layer ruffled organza top by Acler, I knew it would be a statement piece that will add more zest to any outfit. When it finally arrived after a few months of pre-order, my challenge is how to style it so it makes a good fashion statement but not costumy. The first style idea came in mind is to pair with a ruffled khaki skirt and keep the shoes and bag more streamlined.

The resulting silhouette is striking, I got many compliments while walking on the street in it. It is a a super fun look that is flirtatious yet still elegant, perfect for date night or dinner parties.

When I was photographing a different outfit in Georgetown, we bumped into this tapas restaurant Bodega . It was not very flamboyant on the outside but the decor and ambiance inside is absolutely beautiful! I felt I was transported to southern Spain, ready to sip wine and watch flamenco dance. The food was very tasty, and in generous portions. During night time, there are flamenco performance in the bar, with the intimate setup, you can image how much fun it will be.

The owner was super kind when I asked for permission to photograph in the restaurant, so here I am, imaging all the actions happening around me when the night falls, and I have the perfect look for it.

If a more modest appearance is desired, say, brunch or errand runs, I'd style with either the top with wide-leg pants and platform sandals or the skirt with a cropped top and kitten heels, for easy-going off duty looks.

Thank you so much for reading!
